Are we really that shallow?

I’ll save you some precious reading time: yes, we are. As you may have noticed, the message we communicate on this page and what our services reflect (and what most of our articles are about) - how to build a more aesthetic physique. What does that say about us and our values? What does it say about about us as a business?
Well, don’t ask me. I have no clue.

I would like to take you twenty years back in time. The year is 1998 (yes, I scored high in math). I: an insecure freshman at high school who just retired from football (soccer) and in a new school with new people. The braces are on. The muscles aren’t.
  At least not yet.
George of the jungle was a relatively mediocre (now I'm nice) but funny movie starring Brendan Fraser, who jacked up to fit the Tarzan-like role of George, a jungle smart but school dumb human ape.
With a Godlike physique featuring well sculpted muscles in the right places and the right size.
A physique I instantly coveted and set my mind on. This was what brought my attention to strength training. And what kept me going. For years.

And here I am, still going. Motivation may not be what it was in the past and if I during my younger days had a hard time staying away from the gym, not so much anymore. Don’t take this the wrong way, I still hit the gym 4-5 days/week consistently with less than five skipped workouts per year (usually due to travelling and vacations). But now it’s more of a lifestyle and a choir than it is something I always enjoy, like I did in the past when I thought getting jacked would solve all my problems and make me a happier person.

Strength training did make me a happier person.

Strength training does make me a happier person. It does enhance my quality of life and allows me to sleep and relax better. The passion is still there (from times) but the instant love has more and more turned into something long term that I need to do to function as a person.
And something I need to do to be me.

You see, strength training is bigger than just acquiring and maintaining a great physique (I’m still working on it) - it is something you do to improve yourself as a person and something you do to achieve a deeper meaning - and way of life. I still want to look good. I still want you to look good, and that’s why we do what we do. But we don’t just do it for aesthetics or shallowness. We do it because we believe in it.
And we hope you will too.
Until then, I’ll be continuing to work on my Tarzan physique. It’s not always fun. Sometimes it’s plain hard. But I keep doing it because I want to and because I have to.
And because, who wouldn’t want that six pack. I know I would.
  At least for a while.

/Best, Erik
